Dates: Saturday & Sunday, May 4-5 Cost: $35 per workshop/$130 for the weekend Adell Bridges has traveled the world to share her love of yoga, and now makes her first appearance at The BE. Her background as a gymnast plays a meaningful role in the playful and creative style of her teaching, which she intertwines with pranayama, yoga philosophy, and anatomy to take the physical practice into a journey of inner awareness and acceptance. Adell trained in India before teaching in Asia, Europe, Central and North America, spreading her knowledge and enthusiasm in hopes of inspiring and serving others in their own practice. Masterclass Date: Saturday, May 4 Time: 12:00pm-2:00pm This power vinyasa is designed to get your feet up off the mat and into the air! We're talking lots of arm balances and inversions -- with the chance to explore how physical challenges can teach us real-world lessons. With variations for everyone from beginners to the experts, we will move through a fun sequence of transitions and balances that will get the whole body involved. Recruit the Glutes Date: Saturday, May 4 Time: 3:30pm-6:00pm A typical yoga practice will do wonders to open your hips and lengthen your hamstrings, but this workshop is designed to do that AND build strength in those areas neglected by all our warriors and forward folds. Where there's strength and flexibility, there's more range of motion and better control. And guess what: strong hamstrings and glutes lead to better backbends, handstands, and smoother transitions -- so, this workshop is more than how to get glutes of steel in your yoga practice; it's how you can advance all of your asana! Yoga-nastics Date: Sunday, May 5 Time: 12:00pm-2:30pm In this workshop we will mix and mingle two sister movement modalities: yoga and gymnastics. When we add variety to our practice, we can achieve greater mobility and bodily awareness. Find your inner child as you explore new ways to move on your mat, incorporating gymnastics-style postures to your yoga practice. By bringing in elements of gymnastic transitions and training concepts, we can help bring more grace and fluidity to our vinyasa practice. What the Fascia! Date: Sunday, May 5 Time: 3:30-5:30pm Flexibility is a largely misunderstood concept. In this workshop we will look at the importance of flexibility and its relation to strength. We will deepen our understanding of the anatomy of flexibility, and we will explore ways to improve our own mobility through working the fascia lines. You will leave with tools and techniques to take with you into your own asana practice, so you may continue working towards greater mobility, flexibility, and strength. Learn more about Adell at:
