Date: Sunday, September 23 Time: 4:00-5:30pm Cost: By donation Join Shahar Kovetz for a donation-based, open self-defense workshop. Empower yourself by learning practical tools for self-defense: how to release from grips, and how to overcome larger opponents with minimal effort and maximum effect. This is a non-competitive and friendly environment. Bio: Shahar currently teaches two classes at The BE: Hatha and Tai Chi Flow. He was born and raised in Israel. He was drawn to the world of energetics and martial arts from a young age, and immersed himself in the world of kung fu at age 11 and started teaching at Yaloon College at 15. He is an expert in such disciplines as Yang-style and Chen-style T'ai Chi Ch'uan and Five Elements and Five Animals Qigong. For three years Shahar served in a special military unit where he learned Krav Maga and other fighting techniques. Shahar was also immersed in the world of yoga since age 6, and completed his Yoga Teacher Training Course at the Sivananda Ashram in the Bahamas under the guidance of monks and swamis from the Sivananda lineage.
